Returns and Refunds

At Sunday Dessert Perfumery, we take great care in creating and packaging every handcrafted perfume oil. We want you to love your purchase, and we’re committed to providing quality products and excellent customer service.

This policy explains how we handle returns, refunds and exchanges and operates alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a product that has a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Change of Mind

Due to the personal and hygienic nature of perfume products, we do not accept returns or offer refunds for change-of-mind purchases, including where:

  • you no longer want the product;

  • you ordered the wrong fragrance;

  • you changed your mind after purchase;

  • the fragrance was not what you expected; or

  • the scent does not suit your personal preference.

We encourage customers to carefully read product descriptions before purchasing.

Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives:

  • damaged during transit;

  • faulty;

  • leaking;

  • defective; or

  • you receive the wrong product,

please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order.

To help us investigate, please provide:

  • your order number;

  • a description of the issue; and

  • clear photographs of the product and packaging.

Once we have assessed the issue, we will work with you to provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include:

  • a replacement;

  • a repair (where appropriate); or

  • a full or partial refund.

Missing Orders

If your parcel has not arrived within the expected delivery timeframe, please contact us.

We will work with Australia Post to investigate the shipment and keep you informed throughout the process.

Refund Method

Where a refund is approved, it will be processed using the original payment method used at checkout.

Please allow 5–10 business days for the funds to appear in your account after the refund has been processed, depending on your financial institution.

Exchanges

We do not currently offer exchanges for change-of-mind purchases.

If your item is faulty or incorrect, we will work with you to provide an appropriate solution.

Return Shipping

Where a return is required due to a faulty product, damaged item or our error, we will advise you of the return process and, where appropriate, cover reasonable return postage costs.

If a return is requested for reasons that are not covered by Australian Consumer Law and we agree to accept it at our discretion, the customer is responsible for any return shipping costs.

Fragrance Variations

Our perfume oils are handcrafted in small batches.

Minor variations in:

  • colour;

  • fragrance intensity;

  • natural maturation; or

  • appearance

may occur between batches and are considered normal.

Additionally, fragrance performance and scent perception vary from person to person due to factors such as skin chemistry, environment and storage conditions. These differences do not indicate that a product is faulty.

How to Request a Return

Please contact us with:

  • your full name;

  • order number;

  • email address;

  • description of the issue; and

  • photographs (where applicable).

We will respond as soon as possible and guide you through the next steps.
